He became the Director of the Division of Surgery responsible for a program of research focused on militarily relevant surgical issues including wound healing. Currently direct the Surgical Research program at Johns Hopkins Bayview at the Hendrix Burn/Wound Laboratory of Johns Hopkins University.The focus of the laboratory is the utilization of endogenous stem cells to promote tissue repair and regeneration. Research interest: Wound Healing
