Wang Lin , Research Scientist, Editor Profiles

During my Doctoral degree (Department of Oncology, Southern Medical University), I focused on the basic and pre-clinical/ translational training of gastric cancer (GC) progression. My research investigated the roles of metastasis-associated in colon cancer-1 (MACC1) in GC. I demonstrated that MACC1 not only influences the prognosis of GC patients, but also promotes the proliferation, epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT), vasculogenic mimicry (VM) formation and endothelium-dependent angiogenesis in vivo and in vitro models. 2 years ago, I joined the laboratory of Dr. David Mulholland at The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai where I worked as a Post-Doctoral Fellow on treatment resistant cancers of the prostate and bladder. I have developed a preclinical model capable of mimicking advanced human prostate cancer, including (1) resistance to hormone therapy and chemotherapy, (2) the presence of exhausted immune cells and (3) formation of metastasis to the bone. 1 year ago, I joined the laboratory of Dr. Michelle Kroggsgaard at NYU Medical Center where I worked as an associate reseatrch scientist on immunotherapy of melanoma. I study the mechanisms of primary resistance to PD-1 checkpoint blockade
