Peer Review Policies

Peer-Review Policy

Peer review is designed to assess the validity, quality and originality of articles for publication. Reviewers play an essential role in validating the research submitted and providing constructive feedback to the editors and authors. You can find more detail about the Peer Review Process here.

Editorial Policies

Our editors evaluate submitted manuscripts, and those that warrant further consideration are sent out for in-depth review. Manuscripts require a minimum of two reviews to be accepted.

Auctores does not accept pre submission inquiries or accept resubmissions of manuscripts that have already been rejected for reasons related to novelty or impact.

If authors disagree with a reject decision made on the basis of serious reviewer error on a technical point they can appeal the decision by submitting a formal appeal .Authors must submit appeals within four weeks of the decision date to be considered.

Editors will review appeals and decide on appropriate next steps. Responses to reviews and revised manuscripts will not be considered with appeals unless requested by editors.

Auctores uses a highly selective peer review process drawing from and beyond the full pool of reviewers

Appeals and Complaints

Even in cases where editors did not invite re-submission, some authors ask the editors to reconsider a rejection decision. These are considered appeals, which, by policy, must take second place to the normal workload. Although we strive to provide a decision on an appeal within 14 days, on some occasions it may take several weeks.

Decisions are reversed on appeal only if the editors are convinced that the original decision was made in error or critical new information or data has been added. If the manuscript was previously reviewed the editor may also discuss the appeal with one or more of the referees or even obtain advice from an additional referee. If the manuscript was not reviewed the editor may solicit informal opinions from one or more external experts.

Authors who wish to submit their manuscript elsewhere while it is under appeal at our journal must first withdraw their appeal.
