Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to announce the launch of a Special Issue titled:

“Interventional Cardiology: Advances in Percutaneous Techniques, Devices, and Patient Outcomes”
in Clinical Cardiology and Cardiovascular Interventions.

Over the past decades, interventional cardiology has transformed the management of cardiovascular disease through rapid innovations in percutaneous techniques, device technology, and procedural imaging. These advances have significantly improved both acute and long-term outcomes for patients with coronary artery disease, structural heart disease, and complex cardiovascular conditions.

Despite remarkable progress, challenges remain in optimizing long-term safety, durability of interventions, and individualized patient outcomes. Ongoing developments in device engineering, intravascular imaging, physiologic lesion assessment, and minimally invasive structural interventions continue to reshape clinical practice and expand therapeutic possibilities.

This Special Issue aims to bring together cutting-edge research, comprehensive reviews, and clinical studies that highlight the latest advancements in interventional cardiology. We particularly welcome contributions addressing:

  • Novel percutaneous coronary and structural heart interventions
  • Innovations in stents, balloons, and catheter-based technologies
  • Imaging-guided and physiology-guided interventions
  • Long-term outcomes following interventional procedures
  • Complications, prevention strategies, and quality improvement in PCI
  • Emerging technologies and future directions in cardiovascular intervention

Through this curated collection, we aim to provide a comprehensive overview of current trends and future perspectives in interventional cardiology, supporting improved patient care and clinical decision-making worldwide.

We warmly invite leading experts, researchers, and clinicians to contribute original research articles, reviews, and short communications to this Special Issue.

Benefits

Benefits of Publishing in a Special Issue

Publishing in a Special Issue offers significant advantages for authors, enhancing the visibility, accessibility, and impact of their research within the scientific community.

Ease of Navigation

Grouping articles by a focused research theme enables readers to efficiently navigate broad-scope journals. This structured approach helps scholars quickly identify relevant studies within their specific field of interest.

Greater Discoverability and Citation Impact

Special Issues improve the visibility of published research by concentrating related articles in a single thematic collection. This enhanced discoverability often leads to increased readership and a higher likelihood of citation.

Expansion of Research Networks

By bringing together researchers working on similar topics, Special Issues encourage academic interaction and collaboration. This fosters the development of new partnerships and strengthens global research networks.

Increased Visibility Through Promotion

Articles published in Special Issues are frequently highlighted through journal communication channels, including websites and social media platforms, thereby increasing their reach and scientific exposure.

Opportunities for Extended Publication

Selected Special Issues may be considered for further dissemination in additional formats, offering extended visibility for high-quality research collections.

Published Papers

Accepted and published articles will be continuously added to the Special Issue collection and made available online, ensuring ongoing visibility and access for the scientific community.
