It is thought that this balance is achieved by eliminating potentially harmful substances that cause diseases with wet-cupping. Infertility); It is defined as not having a pregnancy despite the couples having regular sexual intercourse. The excretory systems in our bodies may be insufficient to remove heavy metals. Lead, mercury and nickel, which contributed to the development of pain, were found to be quite high in painful groups in our study. The fact that the height of the volume in the blood is higher than venous blood indicates that these heavy metals can be detoxified better with the cupping process. We think that during conventional infertility treatment, one of the complementary applications, cupping therapy can be added as an adjunct therapy in order to regulate the hormonal balance by heavy metal detox and in pregnancy treatment.

Introduction

There is a physiological balance between our systems in our body. When this physiological balance is disturbed, diseases occur. It is thought that this balance is achieved by eliminating potentially harmful substances that cause diseases with wet-cupping[1]. The fact that the blood removed by the cupping has a different content than venous blood also positively affects blood viscosity and flow and oxygen transfer[1,2]. A large part of heavy metals are accumulated biological elements that cannot be removed from the body. When these reach a certain place, serious diseases (thyroid, neurological problems, autism and infertility) and may bring organisms closer to death. Heavy metals can be removed from the body by cupping process.[3,4].

Infertility);  It is defined as not having a pregnancy despite the couples having regular sexual intercourse. Secondary infertility, on the other hand, is the inability of couples who have had children before spontaneously. The incidence of infertility, seen in an average of 15-20 of every 100 couples, increases with age. Infertility, which is a health problem related to the reproductive system, can be caused by a cause related to both men and women, or it can be caused by a combination of many factors [5].

It is seen that traditional and complementary health practices are widely used throughout the world. According to WHO 2000 data, the frequency of use of applications is 80% in Africa, 70% in Canada, 49% in France, 42% in the USA,

Is 38% in Belgium [7].

Some data obtained from studies on its use in disease groups. According to these rates; 22-61% in oncology patients, 13% in dermatology patients

52, 58% in lumbar disc herniation, 47% in rheumatoid arthritis, psychiatric patients

22%, COPD 72%, asthma 63%, chronic renal failure 25%, diabetes

35-41% in mellitus, 31% in allergic diseases, and 82% in infertility [6].

We think that the heavy metal burden exposed to industrialization today also affects the endocrine system of the body.In this study, we aimed to present cases that result in pregnancy by applying cupping therapy to cases who could not become pregnant while receiving conventional infertility treatment.

Method

Voluntary infertility patients who applied to Erbakan University Meram Medical Faculty Traditional and Complementary Medicine Center were applied cupping procedure. As exclusion criteria, attention was paid to the following:

  1. Hemoglobin (anemia) value below 9.5 mg / dl
  2. He has diabetes
  3. Having cardiovascular disease
  4. Having chronic kidney disease
  5. Hepatic failure
  6. Smoking and drinking alcohol
  7. Being pregnant
  8. Having communicable diseases (HIV, Hepatitis B)
  9. He has an iodine allergy
  10. Wounds have a delayed healing problem
  11. Use of any blood thinner (Antiagregan, salicylic acid, coumadin) medication.

Finding

Case 1:

37 years old female. He applied to getate polk with the diagnosis of ankylosing spondylitis, uveitis, dry eye and infertility. He has been married for 17 years. She had amalgam filling, myopia-astigmatism, asthma, reflux, nasal septum deviation and previous cesarean section. egg reserves were found to be decreased. Anti müllerien hormone was low. <1.Du-Mai meridian points were used. Shen-men, eye, zero, stomach points were taken in ear acupuncture. Probiotics and chlorella were recommended. The patient became pregnant approximately 1,5 months later. Antiaggregant use is recommended during pregnancy and gave birth.

He uses a mixture of lion's claw, chasteberry, yarrow. Ylang ylang oil - clary sage oil - calendula oil was recommended as an aromatherapy for ovarian reserve. Acupuncture was performed on the second day of menstruation, Du-Mai meridian and hormonal axis in the ear were studied.

Discussion

The excretory systems in our bodies may be insufficient to remove heavy metals. Lead, mercury and nickel, which contributed to the development of pain, were found to be quite high in painful groups in our study. The fact that the height of the volume in the blood is higher than venous blood indicates that these heavy metals can be detoxified better with the cupping process. High levels of lead can cause irreversible damage to the central nervous system.  Periodic cupping treatment, approximately every 2 months, is recommended for long-term heavy metal exposures. In a study we conducted, we found that female patients with migraine had very high levels of lead and mercury. In addition, we found that it can be detoxified with high levels of lead, mercury and nickel only with cupping blood[8].

The mechanism of the vacuum therapy of cupping (or al-hijamah in Islamic culture) increases capillary leakage, the leaking fluids are collected topically and through the lymphatic system, it removes the chemical substance, inflammatory mediators and nociceptive substances are washed from free nerve endings, system adhesions open fibrositis and reduce pain [8].

During the cupping process, keratinocytes on the skin surface are broken down, β-endorphin is released, adrenocortical hormones are mixed into the blood. It provides β-endorphin analgesia, which is released from scratched keratinocytes.

Conclusion

We think that during conventional infertility treatment, one of the complementary applications, cupping therapy can be added as an adjunct therapy in order to regulate the hormonal balance by heavy metal detox and in pregnancy treatment.
