In this original research article, its author presents the results of his research, which was devoted to the presentation of found collection materials (philatelic, phylumenic and numismatic), thematically dedicated to dermatology and venereology, as well as their heroes, scientists and practitioners who worked in this area of medicine. A total of 23 philatelic, phylumenic and numismatic materials were found.
Medicine, and all its disciplines, including clinical ones, are close aspects of a comprehensive and multi-vector study, which always is and will be relevant and in demand. This can directly be attributed to such important clinical disciplines as dermatology and venereology. Of particular interest is the study of these medical scientific and practical areas, and research works concerning their reflection in a wide variety of collecting media. The author of this research article has previously written a number of articles on similar topics. But, at the same time, continuing his research, the author discovered, in the depths of the world Internet, many more new research collection materials that were not included in his previous articles. In this new article, dermatology and venereology, as well as its heroes - research scientists and practitioners, are presented in the reflection of such collecting means as philately. On postage stamps, artistic marked envelopes and special postal cards and stamps, as well as in numismatics, on thematic, commemorative tabletop medals presented by the author of this article, both in obverse and reverse.
When writing this original research article, its author used methods such as literary critical analysis of all available materials. On the issue under study, including Internet sites and pages of collectors involved in medicine and, in particular, dentistry, in such types of collecting as philately and numismatics. It should be noted that no articles on similar topics, either by domestic or foreign authors, were found! In keeping with this, this author’s article can be considered innovative in this area of research!
Presentation of the results obtained and their analysis, I would like, with a small thematic selection of commemorative, tabletop medals dedicated to the memory of a number of famous foreign scientists and medical practitioners who were actively involved in theory and practitioners in the field of venereology (diagnosis and treatment of syphilis) and dermatologists. All medals are presented in both obverse and reverse, with their front and back/back parts represented. These are commemorative table medals dedicated to such researchers: A - J Watrin (1887-1955) - Syphilographie Venereal Disease Dermatology; B - Paul Ravaut (1872-1934) - Medicine Syphiligraphie Syphilis Dermatology medal 1935); C – Professor Pierre Le Firetiger Bordeaux Medics (1971) Dermatolgie Syphilographie Syphilis; D - Joseph Nicolas (1868-1960) - Dermatologist Vénéréologue Lymphogranulome; E - Doctor Arthur Vernes – medals of 1943; F – I - Paul Ehrlich (1854-1915) and Doctor Sahachirō Hata (1873-1938) - (medalist Franz Kounitzky); H - Jules Bordet (1870-1961) – Germany; J - Professeur dermato-venereologist Francois Henri Hallopeau (1843-1919) - France; K - dermato-venereologist Alfred Fouerier (1832-1914) – France, medal issued in 1902 [1-13].
